HEATHER TAILOR
Our inaugural Featured Artist is an internationally recognized china painter, Life Member and prominent Guild Member of over 40 years. Heather Tailor has had a distinguished career in the Arts and in particular China Painting, which has spanned five decades.
Heather has a Certificate in Onglaze painting and a Diploma of Art Studies and in 1978  started teaching the newly introduced Technical and Further Education Certificate in Onglaze Painting at Fremantle College, later becoming a full time lecturer at Claremont School of Art. Resigning in 1994 Heather opened her own business 'Heather Tailor Porcelain Art' in Fremantle. Heather, who began teaching in the late 1960s, is still in constant demand today and will be a Guest Artist at both the APAT Convention and School being held in October 2009.

| Amongst Heather's many achievements is the writing and publishing of three books (Easy Design Techniques co-authored with Helen Jones), two of the books being reprinted and translated into French, and one also published in the U.K. All books are currently out of print, however a limited number of Easy OnGlaze Techniques is available by contacting Heather Tailor. |

Heather's art has encompassed many styles and techniques over the years but her most noted work is with Lustre - a medium she has made her own. The recipient of many awards too numerous to mention here, illustrated on this page are examples of her work from various exhibitions.
